Blockadder, sounds like a TV series from years ago. Well, what's in a name? It is on purpose though. One could even make a song about it. It was a kind of finding new ways to use another word for basically same thing. Thoughts free from being locked down, trying to get inspired again. Started translating for the Ecency dApp, but I could not find Nederish {NL} anywhere. Do not get it why it is called Dutch, as we do not live in Dutchland. Anyway, started to translate in Nederish using the Dutch template. And playing with some stuff on the side. Javascript in a website using dHive and trying to get App Inventor to be able to make a multi-dApp app.
And I have been thinking about Blockadder nodes. Some might call them Witnesses or Blockproducers, those have to be vote for though. While my thoughts were moving into the direction of no need to vote for them. And the basic idea is that nodes that 'want' to add blocks to a blockchain, earning Tokens in the proces, could do so by getting chosen. Not voted in by members, but through performance. A Blockadder node would be valued on how it performs. Uptime would be important, calculated over time, should be as close to 99,99 percent as possible. Connection bandwidth, another part that would weight in heavily to determine the total score. And how fast it responds and adds all kinds of blocks to the chain, also important. Does it handle API requests fast, dApps running on the blockchain could determine how well a Blockadder node performs.
All in all this would create a dynamic system were the most effective functioning nodes would bubble up. And over time the bad performing nodes that are just out to get some Tokens would be dropped and get a time-out penalty. Of course this would have the nodes with the best hardware and internet connection get on top and also get the most Tokens as a reward, but it pays to invest in that way. Also investing in energy that costs ZERO to use would give a Blockadder an advantage over others who want to get their spot. If there are a lot of top nodes in the Blockadder list a round-robbin system could make sure that there isot just one to earn and control the whole system. No more voting needed? Well maybe to get a new Blockadder node into the list, where it next gets a chance to prove itself.
Ah well, just an idea that popped into my chaotic mind.
