Every year listeners of Orinoco Radio send in their list of favorite songs. At least 25 and 500 at the most. This year I got to a solid 100. The cool thing about the delicious 500 is that there are almost no rules. Except the length of the list, anything goes. The radiomakers themselves send in a list too.

For the love of music, that is what it is about. One weekend of music and fun, almost like a fest. Orinoco Radio is a non-profit station from Nederland, aka the Netherlands, with studio's from all over the country. Unfortunately it is presented in our native tongue. Although there are listeners in the chat from New Zealand and Amerika, they write Nederlands.

Still the music is mostly English language. Many different styles, Indy, pop, wave, punk, rock, you name it, it's there. Don't know where my number one ends up: The Call - I still believe. Or my runner up: Guns n Roses - Civil War. Typicly, while I'm listening I do hear lots of songs I like and think: "Oh, I want to put that in my list for next year!" And then when it is time to make mine... Yep, forgotten.

This weekend it is edition nine. From friday 18 until sunday 20th of november 2016. Central European Time, Amsterdam, friday from 1830 until saturday night 0400. Part 2 saturday 0800 until sunday 0400. Part 3, the final, from 0800 until 2359.

If you want to enjoy a broad variety of awesome music you can tune in at the site of Orinoco Radio, www.orinoco.nl or to go easy on their stream slots use Oldambt FM's relay.

The Orinoco Radio relay by Oldambt FM is at www.oldambtfm.ga/popstudio

And even if you don't understand Nederlands, one thing is for sure: We all speak music!
