Away for a few days.
Before the daily routine starts again.
Finally the rain stopped.
Going to an island is a weather gamble. At least that is the case in Nederland. Tuesday was great, arriving full in full summer weather. Loved the ferry trip. All things bright and beautifull. Had my Nikon with 300mm lens ready to go.
Unfortunately the weather turned around 180 degrees. Wednesday was cats n dogs the whole day through. A drop in temperature of 10 degrees celcius. And I did not bring a jacket, optimistic as I am about the weather.
Today looks to be okay, dry for most of the day. Sunny now and then. It could be worse, snow in summer. Will grab a bicycle and cam and go for a spin. Schiermonnikoog as it is called in my native tongue is a very small isle. No cars and motors allowed. Only a few electric busses and some cars for logistic matters. Also the companies and farmers here have some motorized transportation.
Bicycles, must be thousands of them.
In the village on a sunny day it is completely filled with them. A lot with electric peddle support. Had a ride on one, can imagine myself getting used to that. So I am going on an isle tour using an old fashioned type of bike. Hope it stays dry and a bit sunny. Tomorrow heading back to mainland.
It is a weird concept, calling Greymonksisle an island. Because when you give it some thought every land is an island. All is surrounded by water on this amazing bio-spaceship, we call earth, with which we cross the universe. Yes, being on an island does give some food for thought. And now I am going out to take a trip aroud the isle. To just be in the here and now. Only pitty about those fighterplanes flying over all the time. Otherwise this stay could have been close to perfect.
Have a great one!
Island could mean is-land...
