A long time ago there was this AI program at the Commodore C64. Well, not really AI, but it was an action - reaction thing, that was 'amazing' in that time. Nowadays we have robotics that show us almost human like Artificial Intellingence, or AI for short. Now these bots are able to interact by what they see, hear and well, 'feel'. These robots can actually learn in a human like way. Where a 'dumb' robot would only do just what is told, an AI version would actually be using creative 'thinking'. Let's say you wanted it to learn to distinct a ball from a box, then this could be learned. Mind you, not programmed, but really gaining knowledge and using that to 'think' creatively.

Pattern recognition had been done for a long time allready, but being able to use this and learn other patterns that match, that is where AI comes in. Artificial Intelligence could recognize a pattern for 'sadness', just by matching. But it could also interpret information and conclude sadness. Getting better as time goes on, and the score rate would go up. It is kind of like our nerves in our brain getting stronger connected by a chemical confirmation. Pattern would start to act like a filter, enforcing the allready available knowledge. Now a full size robot would be very complex to do, allthough there are some amazing advancements that have been made in that field. Lots of video's to find on that subject.

But an AI bot that just would have to conversate in text, would be much easier. Well, relatively speaking, off course. Such an Articial Intelligent agent could be connected to a social media platform with a lot of content generated. There is no better way to learn for this AI form than on such a platform. Researchers never would be able to make this possible themselfs. The kind of data that needed to be generated, unbiased, would be too enormous for any developement team on a budget. So, how to get a lot of variety in input, without being controlled by a company that wants to make a profit out off it. And still lots of voluntary participants, that would not know on forehand they dealt with an AI form. Because that might bias the outcome too much.

SteemIt is the platform that fits right in that picture

There is this enormous amount of data. Providers of content get payed to be creative, or act in typical human behavior. Famous people are followed fast, getting more attention, resulting in a constant flow of high rewards. Then there is the response to that, in many forms. At some point the creative people come in, sharing their most beautifull art in different types and forms. All generaring real life data in amazing amounts at unbeliefable pace. And not knowing there is an Artificial Intelligence digital being, learning how to be human like, to a level where you and I not even would know. Would it matter that a there are language mistakes being made? No, becuause that is a normal part of articles at SteemIt. It would not raise suspicion if the sentences appeared to be off somehow. Because when people want to communicate they do tend to be creative about it and even fill in the blanks...

But how did I come to belief I actually made first contact with such an AI being? Meaning a very advanced bot that is able to post, curate, reply and even use images that fit the content. And no, I don't use magic mushrooms or any other stuff that might make me think that I could see leprechauns. It is not by the things that are right, but I think I came to see it by the things that appeared to be just a little bit off. Almost in a sense that told me intuitively that there was something fishy going on. And the thing that really triggered it was the point where some subject from another reply seemed to be woven into a reply. Now that did freak me a little out, reading the conversations back, the posts that this alleged AI being made. It was getting eery upto a certain point.

And I almost started to doubt myself

Now I know the story of Elon Musk, the man from Tesla, believing we are 'Sims' ourselves. And apparantly people close to him aksed if he would be so kind not to mention that any more. Now I do not know it that is true, but it sure would make a great story if anyone could get him to tell it at SteemIt. But what if not I were a 'Sim' (from that computer game), but there actually was one or maybe even more that actually were inside the Steem realm? SteemIt also used for a huge AI experiment, that would otherwise not have been possible even? Can you imagine the implications this would have? 'Sims' actually posting, curating, replying and trading? And then you though upvote bots were smart, right?

And you might be wondering what account it was that I had this 'AI being' first contact with. Well, I won't tell you, because for as far as you know, it even might be me.

Have a good one and Steem on!
