A series of photos I took recently with my Nikon D50, until it started to snow. But if winter decides to stay a while longer I might have another go at other parts of the municipal Oldambt. This time I wandered around in the south of the small town of Winschoten.
Recently there were some changes made to the train and bus station. Giving it a fresh new look. With an extra dimension added by the huge letters that tell you right where you are at arrival. You could say it mimics the one in Amsterdam a bit, the capital of Nederland and home of the first SteemFest ever. (In Amsterdam it says: "I AM STERDAM", if I remember correctly.)
Not that strange though as Winschoten and Amsterdam do have some things in common. Like the nickname: Mokum, where Winschoten was once know as Little Mokum. Although most of the time Winschoten is refered to as Sodom.
Winschoten is also known as the Rose and Windmill town. Maybe more about that another time. Hope you enjoy the winter wonderland photos of Winschoten on this blue monday.
Have a good one!
